I was lying by turned off light and by lit candle. Warm, quiet and nice… After finishing the bath I took out the cork with my foot. The water was subsiding and my body was becoming heavier and heavier. After a while the bathtub was completely empty, and I became more relaxed. I felt good, I didn’t want to go so I was lying in an empty bathtub…. and it was fantastic!
Use the favorable conditions!
A major problem with beginners is to achieve a state of inner silence, even for a moment.
The usual techniques of meditation, of course, help to achieve the right results, but sometimes you can start with something simpler, such as meditation in the bathtub. For practitioners it will also be an interesting experience, a kind of a supplement to other techniques.
During the bath we naturally mellow out and if we try to mellow out just a little deeperwe can see what mediation is.
In my personal feeling it is better and faster to achieve the silence during the meditation in the tub.
The technique is so simple that in fact the technique doesn’t exists:
- bath in silence (without music – but propably later you can add something);
- light the space with the candles – the best place is to put the candle in front of us – darkness favours the calming;
- we stay naked in the empty tub (after you subside the water). Our body is heated and we won’t be cold for a long time;
- we focus (as much as we possibly can) on a burning candle.
Only one disadvantage – you must have a tub in your bathroom, in the shower frame it will be more difficult
I really recommend such bath – this is revelation for me! I get back home after work – bath – and I’m a different person: calm, refreshed and totally mellowed out. Echhh… Maybe I will write something
PS Of course, nothing can replace the morning and evening meditation
